HOT STONE is one of the other three sister restaurants: Mahob Khmer, Lum Orng Garden, and Lum Orng Farm To Table, which were established in 2014 under the well-known food and beverage company MAHOB GROUP, which is based in Siem Reap province, Kingdom of Cambodia.
The concept of “HOT STONE” is barbecue grilling that people can enjoy their meat, whether it’s local cuts or imported from overseas. What’s unique about HOT STONE is the choice people have in how they want their meat cooked – rare, medium, or well-done. This is because the meat cooks by itself on a volcanic stone that is heated to 300-400 degrees in an oven for approximately six to eight hours.
Our Food Philosophy
For almost a decade, chef Sothea has dedicated his efforts to coming up with this Hot Stone concept, inspired by his work experiences in luxury hotel kitchens in Cambodia and overseas. His first outlet in Siem Reap opened in 2014, and he continues to open more outlets around Cambodia.
Hot Stone’s influence on modern cooking technology can be traced back to the ancient Egyptians through the introduction and development of its concept and system. This has refined and perfected this age-old idea for a new cooking technique.
